The Pauldo Twins announce their commitment to Tennessee 📣

The Pauldo twins Mia and Mya just reported their commitment to the University of Tennessee on Thursday July 11th. The dynamic duo has decided to continue their career together at Tennessee, this is no surprise for many fans since they’ve always been a package deal together.

“We discussed this as a family and the girls intend to stay together when the time comes.” DJ Pauldo explained. “There’s no chance of them separating. They’re in this together”

Growing up the Pauldo twins were miles ahead of the other kids on their basketball skills level and shocked every room they were in.

“They used to be like, ‘Who are these girls, yo?’” Mia recalled playing against boys. “Everybody thought we were tough because we were small and beating these boys. And because we’re small and crossing over and scoring all the time.”

DJ Pauldo often made big sacrifices after realizing the twins had a natural talent for the sport. Eventually he went on to build a full sized basketball court next to their house, giving up what was their garage.

The Patterson born twins became a force to be reckoned with being a vital part in the Morris Catholic high school girls basketball team in Denville, New Jersey where they are getting ready to be seniors as the 2024-2025 school year begins. Known as the Twin Back Court or “TBC”, which is the name of their well known brand and their many social media accounts with numerous followers on all platforms.

The Pauldo twins’ talent and NIL deals continue to show DJ that his sacrifices were in fact worth it; one of the NIL deals including Puma.

Throughout the Pauldo twins’ high school journey they have been on many colleges’ radar, receiving tons of offers from colleges like Baylor, Ohio State, Georgetown, Oklahoma, Rutgers, Seton Hall, Ole Miss, Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech and Tennessee etc.

At the age of 15, the Pauldo twins received a NIL deal despite not even playing their first high school game with Malcom Garret’s brand “Retired from Society”.

“I think honestly, if you’re recruiting us and you don’t mention NIL, you don’t really know who we are, right?” Dj Pauldo said.

Mya Pauldo is known to control the tempo of the game with her point guard skills, providing her teammates with plenty of opportunities to score and her easy flow in the game. On the other hand Mia Pauldo, dominates the game by the electric plays she makes to score and her effortless confidence to go along with it.

“I’m always looking for our players, I wanna create a play for them,” Mya said.  “Mia’s one of our main scorers, so I definitely have to look for my sister and give her the ball. We complement each other because we can also switch positions. She can play point guard and look for me as well. Were two point guards who really don’t turn the ball over”

The Twins recently voiced their opinion on Tennessee, with a high potential for them to possibly commit. The main things that stood out to the Pauldo twins were the competitiveness of the SouthEastern Conference and the many greats who originally played there.

“Tennessee is a big university, a major D1 school and we know legends went there… I like how they’re in the SEC — are in one of the toughest conferences — and I can imagine going there and how that would make us tough,” Mya said. “I also like the relationships the coaches have with us, I’m loving it.”

Sharing the experience with family makes a huge difference especially when you’ve always been together. The comfortable feelings make the twins adapt easier and have someone to fall back on.

“It’s really special [to have my sister with me],” Mya said. “Usually people are on their own for this type of journey, they don’t have no one to back them up or help them when they’re going through it mentally. We have each other to pick each other up on and off the court.”

It’s no secret that the Pauldo twins are an unstoppable duo that will be a challenge for opponents. The terror they may cause at Tennessee will be an interesting thing to watch for viewers.
