UCLA women’s basketball has been without starting center Lauren Betts for the past four games due to an undisclosed medical reason. Betts is a key part of UCLA’s offense and defense and since the star center has been out, UCLA has struggled to keep their footing at the top of the rankings. Since Betts’ time away from the court, UCLA has lost major games to Washington State and Stanford.
Coach Cori Close stated after UCLA’s loss to Stanford that she expects Lauren Betts to play again this season.
The sophomore center is having a breakout season averaging 15.4 points, 8.6 rebounds per game, and 2.1 blocks per game while shooting 68% from the field and 64% from the free throw line.
