CHICAGO – The Chicago Sky announced Friday that the team has waived guard Kysre Gondrezick.
The five-foot-nine guard out of West Virginia University was the No. 4 overall pick, drafted by the Indiana Fever in the 2021 WNBA Draft.
Gondrezick started her collegiate career at the University of Michigan where she started in 16 of 33 games with the Wolverines. In Ann Arbor, Gondrezick averaged 14.9 points per game, 3.6 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 27.8 minutes
At WVU, she averaged 17.1 points per game, 3.3 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 56 starts for the Mountaineers.
In her first year with the Fever, Gondrezick averaged 1.9 points, 1.0 rebounds and 0.9 assists in 9.1 minutes per game.
The Sky announced Gondrezick had signed a training camp contract in February of this year. She had previously spent time with the Sky at training camp in 2022 before being let go prior to the opening night roster.
Gondrezick played in Thursday’s loss against the Las Vegas Aces before being waived, putting up 3 points and 1 steal in just 1 minute of play.
With the sky, Gondrezick averaged 1.0 points, 0.4 rebounds and 0.8 steals in 3.2 minutes per game.
