ATLANTA – Candace Parker unveiled the Muscle Milk Fitness Court in Atlanta. It’s a new FREE outdoor gym facility for all. This fitness court will allow anyone in the community a safe place to exercise, free of charge, with circuit training available for athletes of all levels.
Muscle Milk is on a mission to make inner and outer strength more accessible through its cause-based initiative, The Lifting Project. The Muscle Milk Fitness Court is an extension of that program, and the brand is excited to help people in Atlanta own their strength.
The city of Atlanta showed CP3 their appreciation for her by surprising her with a proclamation, and March 13 is acknowledged as Candace Parker Day in Atlanta.
Parker also mentioned her planned return to the court with the Aces. She missed the second half of the season due to a foot fracture that required surgery in June.
“It’s a play it by ear type of thing. Obviously I want to be healthy when I step back on the court, and I think the Aces are going to help me do that.”
Parker is of course an alumni of the University of Tennessee. The Lady Vols just dropped a heartbreaker to the South Carolina Gamecocks, after a last second 3 pointer by Kamilla Cardoso. She and teammate A’ja Wilson, who is a former Gamecock great, had friendly banter with each other after Vols’ third loss to the Cocks this season.
“I’m hoping my Lady Vols can recover from that devastating loss, but the post season is going to be fun in March.”
It was mentioned that MiLaysia Fulwiley is the first Freshman since Parker in 2008 to be named SEC Tournament MVP. Parker mentioned what a great talent Fulwiley is, and doing it in the SEC says a lot about her game.
“MiLaysia is an unbelievable talent. I think anytime you’re able to do it in a conference like the SEC it speaks to how great she is. Her doing it in the role and the minutes she’s playing in, I think Coach Staley is doing a good job at developing her talent.”
