The Atlanta Dream announced two roster moves Wednesday including waiving guard Crystal Dangerfield and signing guard Maya Caldwell.
Dangerfield joined the Dream in May of this year being traded from the Dallas Wings in exchange for a 2025 third-round draft pick.
Dangerfield was Originally drafted No. 16 overall by the Minnesota Lynx in 2020 and won Rookie of the Year after averaging 16.2 points per game, 2.0 rebounds and 3.6 assists. Last season with the Wings, Dangerfield averaged 8.2 points, 3.1 assists and 2.9 rebounds per game.
Caldwell was drafted No. 33 overall pick to the Indiana Fever in the 2021 WNBA Draft. In 2022, Caldwell signed with the Dream, averaging 10.9 points and 2.2 assists per game in nine appearances. Last season, Caldwell returned to the Fever where she averaged 1.9 Points per game, 0.9 rebounds and 0.6 assists in an average of 10.1 minutes played.
In her singular preseason game with the Fever this season, Caldwell recorded one assist in five minutes of play before being waived the following week.
The Dream will take on the Connecticut Sun in a matchup Friday, June 28. The game will be streamed on WNBA League Pass with tipoff at 7:30 P.M. ET.
