2K Sports announced Wednesday that Las Vegas Aces forward and WNBA superstar A’ja Wilson will be one of the cover athletes for the much anticipated NBA 2K25 All-Star and WNBA editions of the video game.
The two-time WNBA Champion joins elite company from the NBA, gracing the cover with talent such as Jayson Tatum and Vince Carter.
While Tatum is on the cover of the standard edition of the game, the pair of champions are on the cover of the All-Star edition. With Wilson on the WNBA edition, it marks the first time a WNBA player will be on a global edition of the cover.
“Being featured on the NBA 2K25 cover is a big moment for me and a testament to the ever-growing fandom of the WNBA,” Wilson said in a statement. “Seeing more and more WNBA athletes scanned into NBA 2K25 to best capture the style and confidence of the league has been empowering, and I can’t wait for fans to experience it in-game.”
The cover release comes just one day after Wilson was announced to be the Western Conference’s Player of the Week for the third time this season. So far, Wilson has averaged 27.0 points per game, 10.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.8 steals in 33.8 minutes.
Since being drafted No. 1 overall by the Aces out of the University of South Carolina, Wilson has averaged 20.6 points per game, 8.9 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.9 blocks, starting in 207 of her 209 career games.
Wilson has dominated in her six years in the league and is the projected runaway winner of the WNBA Most Valuable Player award for the 2024 season. The award would be her third MVP honor in her career. In addition to these accolades, she has also been a five-time All-Star, tabbed to All-WNBA First-Team (2020, 2022) and WNBA All-Defensive First Team (2022, 2023).
Wilson and the Aces will take on the Seattle Storm at Climate Pledge Arena Wednesday afternoon with tipoff beginning at 3 P.M. ET. The game can be streamed on WNBA League Pass.
